Frequently asked questions about fat freezing

Is cryolipolysis right for me?

The treatment is suitable for both men and women. The ideal candidate is someone with a good physical condition but with local excess fat on, for example, chin, upper arms, abdomen, back, love handles, bra bulges, fat deposits in thighs and flanks and other isolated fat zones. Cryolipolysis is not a substitute for losing weight. It is a treatment to get rid of local stubborn fat, where a diet or body exercises do not work. The treatment is an alternative to liposuction and has the advantage that it is not an operation, so you do not need time to recover.

What does a cryolipolysis treatment cost?

This depends on what area you would like to get treated, what your ultimate goal is and the number of treatments needed. Together with the skin therapist, a tailor-made treatment plan is made, which is exactly tailored to your body.

Where does frozen fat go? Is the result permanent?

The fat cells become crystallized by freezing, die off and are then drained by the body and do not come back. This ensures that the result is permanent.

What precautions should I take for cryolipolysis treatment?

In some cases we cannot treat you, for example during pregnancy, an extreme sensitivity to cold or an autoimmune disease. For certain conditions, special guidelines are used and we recommend that you always discuss this with your doctor and our skin therapist first.

Is cryolipolysis safe?

The U.S. Food and Drugs (FDA) has stated that cryolipolysis is safe for removing fat. More than six million treatments have now been carried out worldwide and it is a proven safe and effective method to remove fat.

Is cryolipolysis painful?

When the treatment begins, you will feel that the skin is pulled into the handpiece. During the first 5 to 10 minutes, when the cooling process starts, you will feel a cold sensation in the area. The treated area will feel numb for the rest of the treatment. For 10 minutes after treatment, when the handpieces are removed, you may feel some pain.

Are there any side effects?

Because the head of the device vacuum sucks, the feeling can arise that you are pulled and pinched into you during the treatment. A numb or annoying feeling can be experienced. After the treatment, you may temporarily suffer from numbness, redness, swelling, bruising or irritation. This goes down within 1 to 2 weeks after the treatment and has no lasting consequences.

Can I return to work immediately after the treatment?

Yes this is possible. The cryolipolysis treatment is not a surgical procedure and therefore you do not have to recover from it. You can return to work or resume other activities after the treatment.

When will I see the result?

Contour improvement can be noticed from 4 weeks after the treatment. The full effect is visible after 90 days. After the treatment, the body is busy with the removal of dead fat cells, during that time the result only gets better.

What happens if I gain weight again after the treatment?

Gaining weight after a cryolipolysis treatment is no different than before a treatment. If you gain weight after fat freezing, the fat will spread over your body just like before the treatment. So no more fat than normal will end up in the treated areas.
