Disfiguring kegs (also called branch bush fens or brush varices) on the legs are visible small red or blue lines on the legs. Actually, they are small superficial varicose veins (micro-varices). Superficial and jumped leg vessels with a diameter of 0.1 to 4.0mm we effectively treat with the M22 Nd: YAG laser and/or IPL.
Expected result
Your body needs a moment to clean up the destroyed kegs. After about 6 months, the result is visible. The kegs that have been treated will remain away for good. The cause of the formation of the vessels cannot always be eliminated, so new bone vessels may arise in the future, which may require recurrence of treatment.
Number of treatments required
The number of treatments required cannot be predicted in advance. On average, about 3 to 6 treatments are needed. Each treatment gives improvement. Between each treatment there is a period of 6 to 8 weeks.
Prices
Small area (single bone vessels) | €90,- |
Medium area (single areas above or lower legs) | €175,- |
Large area (multiple zones above and lower legs) | €275,- |
Precaution
The laser treatment on leg vessels is most effective and safe on light skin. That is why we advise you not to expose your legs to the sun or sunbed for at least 6 weeks prior to the treatment. If you really can't avoid sunlight, then consistently use sunscreen with SPF 30-50 or cover the area to be treated with a towel or clothing. If you suffer from varicose veins or any other underlying vascular problem, it is important that you consult your doctor or vascular surgeon first. Further examination and/or another method of treatment may be necessary.
During treatment
The skin therapist sets the laser to your skin type and the characteristics of the leg vessels. She then places the laser head just above the visible leg vessel and gives a pulse, she will treat as many vessels as possible. The laser light penetrates the skin and searches for the 'oxyhaemoglobin' (this gives blood its red colour) of the blood. This heats the blood vessels, causing the vessel wall to contract. The body then cleans up the remainder. A laser treatment of superficial leg vessels can be sensitive but is generally tolerable. Afterwards we cool the treated area with cold packs.
Aftercare
The skin may feel warm afterwards and slight swelling may occur. This is a normal and desired effect and will quickly diminish. Up to 2 weeks after the treatment small scabs may be visible under the skin, this is coagulated blood. Limit and increased blood flow in your legs after the treatment. It is important not to undo the coagulation in the treated blood vessels. For example, avoid the sauna, heated baths and active sports such as running for at least 7 days after the treatment, and do not use alcohol for up to 48 hours after the treatment. If you have an extensive form of superficial leg vessels, we recommend wearing therapeutically elastic stockings. These not only relieve complaints, but also prevent the formation of new leg vessels and varicose veins.
